Hey people!
Here's a question: how would you guys like to donate BLOOD?
The following is taken from the SMB message:"The Second run of Blood Donation Drive will be held on 30 July 2009 (Thursday) from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm at the Reading Room (Block A, 3rd level). Please participate actively in this blood donation drive. If you are not 18 years of age by 30 July 09, please obtain the parental consent form from your Class Representative or print a copy of the parental consent form from the attachment in this EMB. You need to bring the duly signed consent form on the day of the blood donation drive (30 July 2009, Thursday). If you are keen to be a blood donor, kindly note the following:
i) You must weigh at least 45 kg,
ii) You should not display any symptoms of flu, cold or sore throat (specific medications and other diseases will be evaluated by the attending Medical Officer), and should not be on any medication for the three days prior to blood donation.
iii) You are advised to eat a well-balanced meal, including plenty of fluids (avoid caffeine) 3-4 hrs prior to the blood donation.
iv) Students who have not turned 18 years old by 30 July 09 will need parental consent to donate blood. Please get the consent form signed by your parents/guardians and bring it along during blood donation.
v) Please also bring along your NRIC or other photo identification showing date of birth to the blood donation venue.
vi) You are NOT ALLOWED to skip lessons (lectures/tutorials/practical) for the purpose of blood donation.
You may also wish to access the websites www.redcross.org.sg or www.donorweb.org for more educational information on blood, eligibility criteria and the process of blood donation.
Do show your kindness and help to save lives."
So anyone interested? If so, please inform Lynette Seow or myself (Sarah Ng) and we can arrange to meet before donating blood together as teammates. We shall face adversity and overcome our fears together. Join us in saving lives!
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
