BEFORE THIS DAY IS ALMOST DONE,
let's take a moment to ponder the immensity of 18/05
18 years ago, on this very day, in a remote corner of a remote island in a remote corner of the Earth,
our dear Captain, LYNETTE was born
HAPPY (EIGHTEENTH) BIRTHDAY :D
And guess what, according the Wikipedia,
the number eighteen in chinese can be read as 幺八 (yāo bā), which means "one is going to prosper" !
In the United States, eighteen is the legal age where one can legally get a body piercing and tattoo without parental consent, gamble, vote, drive a car, bear arms, get an abortion, donate their bodies to science, serve on a jury and marry without parental consent.
In the Netherlands, eighteen is the minimum age one must be to procure marijuana legally ! LOL !
And in the UK, eighteen year olds can finally (legally) purchase booze, tobacco, vote, go to war and model for pornography(!)
All the joys of being eighteen !
